Elizabeth's 5 Be's

I was asked to give some words of wisdom to the Summer Intern students. Here are the 5 tips I gave them:

Elizabeth’s Five B’s

1. Be open to learning

You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives. ~Clay P. Bedford

Get over the idea that only children should spend their time in study. Be a student so long as you still have something to learn, and this will mean all your life.~Henry L. Doherty

2. Be open to hard work

The next best thing to winning is losing! At least you've been in the race.~ Nellie Hershey Tullis

There are no traffic jams along the extra mile.~ Roger Staubach

3. Be communicative-over communicate

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.~George Bernard Shaw

The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives.~Anthony Robbins

4. Be into relationships

A single conversation with a wise man is better than ten years of study. ~Chinese Proverb

No road is long with good company. ~Turkish Proverb

5. Be kind

Be kind to unkind people-they need it the most.~Ashleigh Brilliant

Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness.
